Mark Pringle - Piano, Synthesizer | Max Santner - Drums

Mark Pringle and Max Santner, frequent collaborators in bands such as Constantly Moving Happiness Machines and Tether, present original and improvised music in a duo setting.

MAX SANTNER, born in Salzburg in 1991, is a Berlin based drummer, improviser and composer. Current projects and collaborations are HUM, Sinularia, KIM Collective, Été Large, Holler My Dear, Tether, Magnetic Ghost Orchestra. He is performing all over Europe and at Festivals like Jazz Fest Berlin, XJAZZ Festival, KIM FEST, Überjazz Festival, Moers Festival, SURfF Festival, Jazz Kollektiv Nights, Jazz And The City Festival, What Is Music Festival Burgos, Mama Jazz Festival Vilnius, BeJazz TransNational. He is a founding member of KIM Collective, which is organising an annual Festival for improvised music in Berlin.

Furthermore KIM is doing art across concerts, installations and performances. In 2008 he received the Austrian Jazz Award Joe Zawinul Price and in 2016 he got the Austrian Scholarship BKA Austria for Art and Culture. In 2018 he won the BeJazz TransNational Price with his band HUM.

MARK PRINGLE is a British pianist and composer based in Berlin, working at the intersection of various forms of composed and improvised music. He is a Yamaha Jazz Scholar, Peter Whittingham Award winner, German Jazz Prize nominee (with LIUN + The Science Fiction Band) and has performed at numerous prominent locations across the UK, Germany, Denmark, France, Italy, Iceland, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Greece, Sweden, Austria and the Netherlands, including for BBC national radio.

Mark works as a leader, side-person and collaborator in diverse artistic projects internationally with some of the most important voices of his and other generations, and can be found performing in contexts ranging from contemporary jazz and free improvisation to classical chamber music (notable performances include Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time), synth-pop, art song and new music.
